Run 07 – 28th July – 8th August 2022

Rather than write about what we took on this trip, here’s Mike to tell you what was in the van!

Huge thanks to Anna Pukas James who last Saturday together with Kristina Pukas Cousins, hosted a Ukraine Fundraiser in Epworth. We laid on Ukrainian food, Richard Cousins barbecued his home-made sausages and the weather was kind – and so were all those who attended. On- the-spot donations came to £958 and donations made since have taken the total to nearly £1,200. We also helped to fill the van the the donated goods that people bought along.

We also picked up these items in Warstein, Germany from our Germany team: Men’s civilian clothes 16kilo, Arctic Parka + military cold weather linings 9kilo, 4 Military Camo Jackets 5kilo

Then it was off to Lviv where we made 3 deliveries: the first was in Lviv to our usual charity and then we headed out to a village to the north of Lviv for our second delivery which went well. We had a small issue at the border on the way in to Ukraine but it was something of nothing. Then Bill and myself took an hour off in Lviv and sat in Stephan Banderra square for a spot of lunch. We then headed back to our hotel just over the border in Poland for a good nights rest before the long slog back. We were accompanied on this trip by Greg and Anna who were able to spend time with their cousin in Lviv whilst we did our deliveries. Greg has been snapping away on this trip and here’s a couple of his pictures:

Another issue we had was the van is now starting to show the strain of over 20,000 miles slogging across Europe since March. She will then be retired until such a time as I can put her right. She has served us well and it’s about time she had rest. Consequently we are looking for a long wheelbase high roof 3.5t van with at least three seats and need to find one pronto as the next run is at the end of the month. As always we thank everyone for their help and support and ask that you continue supporting us so we can carry on with our work.
