Mike Hockham

Welcome to the second in the series of profiles of the Ukraine Fundraiser 2022 team.

Please meet Mike Hockham, another our co-founders.

Prior to the start of the war, Mike was an HGV driver and this is not his first experience of driving around Europe on aid missions! He was also delivering aid during the Balkans crisis!

Outside of work, Mike was an avid biker – a love he also shares with his wife, Annie. Sadly, there is less time for him now to hit the road on just two wheels as he has dedicated his life to helping the people of Ukraine.  

Another hobby that has taken a back seat is Brass Bands – he has played with bands all over the country over the years and was considered a fine Soprano Cornet or Tenor Horn player. (Or was that he should be fined for his playing? 😊).

His expertise as a mechanic & welder also comes into good use in keeping our vans fit for each run – the roads in Ukraine certainly take their toll on the vehicles!
