Run 01 – 16th March 2022
And so it began! Run no. 1 and a first outing for “Renee” the van!
First stop was to meet the folks at BAMK who were providing aid to go in the van.
In the early days, we went via Dover – something that has changed since then. (We now mainly use Harwich to Hook of Holland).
Next stop? Weeze in Germany to pick up co founder and co-pilot, Guy!
In the early days, things were different – we dropped our first load of aid at a “hub” south of Berlin from where teams of Ukranian vans get it across the border. After dropping the first load of aid, things were changing by the minute and unfortunately, we didn’t make the drop at the Ukrainian border as originally planned but instead, helped to move aid from other parts of Germany to this central hub. . Let’s hear what happened:
